Situación

Location

The rural turisme center Fuente del Val is located in Prádanos de Ojeda at north part of the Province of Palencia. The province of Palencia is nowdays part of the Autonomic Region named Castilla y León.

The most convinient way to reach Prádanos de Ojeda is by car., taking the deviation located at Alar del Rey, national road N-611 (Santander-Palencia), direction to San Andrés de Arroyo, driving just 4 Km. on the secondary road P-223.

As a reference please note following approximate distances from main cities:

Santander: 110 Km., Palencia: 80 km., Burgos: 90 Km., Bilbao: 210 Km., Madrid: 310 Km.

The nearest international airports are located at Bilbao and Madrid.

The nearest railway station is located at Alar del Rey (5 Km.) with main connections to Madrid and Santander.

Bus is also available, the main station is located at Aguilar de Campoo (20 Km.) with connections to several main cities (Bilbao)

Climate

Prádanos de Ojeda is at 950 m over the sea level. Located over an area between the castillian flat (big farming area) and the begining of the cantabrian mountains, not far away you can find mountains with altitudes of 2500 m.

The landscape then change very fast depending if you heading north or south of our place, but either way it is different and beautiful.

The climate is continental, can be very hot during summer time (June to September) and very cold during winter (November to March), during winter months snow is quiet normal in our place.

During the Summer the north wind is present mostly everyday, so after the sun falls a pullover or a jacket is needed.

Days are normally hot and sunny but nights are fresh, very good for a good sleep (with a blanket).
